October marks Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a global initiative dedicated to helping individuals and organisations stay safe online.
The event encourages people to build safer online habits and understand the role they play in protecting data, systems and services from cyber threats.
This year’s theme, “Don’t Make It Easy for Them,” highlights a simple but important message: small actions can have a big impact on reducing cyber risk. Whether it’s enabling multi-factor authentication, keeping devices updated, verifying unexpected requests or reporting suspicious activity, everyday decisions can make a real difference.
Why does it matter? While organisations continue to invest in technology and security tools, many cyber incidents still begin with a simple human action, such as clicking a malicious link, sharing information with the wrong person or approving a request that seemed legitimate. Cyber security is no longer just an IT issue. Everyone has a role to play.
Throughout October, we’ll be sharing content designed to raise awareness, encourage discussion and help organisations build stronger cyber security habits.
Coming this month:
🔹 Why cyber awareness matters
🔹 A deeper look at the human side of cyber security
🔹 Put your knowledge to the test with a cyber security quiz
🔹 Key lessons learned and a final cyber security readiness checklist
Think you’ve got cyber security covered? Follow along throughout October and put your knowledge to the test.
