The ten initial Focus Hotels burst onto the UK Hotel landscape from the ashes of the collapsed Real Hotel Group in February 2009.  TMB Systems were already a key supplier of the Wifi system to the entire Real Hotel Group.

Focus Hotels immediately set about putting new support structures in place for the existing IT systems to secure continuity of customer facing services and TMB Systems successfully bid to take over the telephony maintenance of the diverse portfolio of telephone systems throughout the group.

Linda Cowdry Head of IT for Focus Hotels comments “We soon realised that a fundamental step to drive revenue across our properties was to select a single Property Management System for the group and after an extensive tender process Protel Multi Property was selected. We also needed a strategic partner to help us deploy the system in a controlled manner across of wide geographic spread of hotels and this is when we turned, once again, to TMB Systems”.


TMB Systems, Protel and Focus Hotels formed a project team to pilot the system including a mobile training suite of desktop PCs at the Focus Hotels Hull property.  After the successful pilot the Protel system was rolled out to the remaining eleven properties in under six months.

TMB Systems now provide a complete desktop and server managed service to Focus Hotels including specification, installation and support of both hardware and software.

A further major step forward for Focus Hotels is the partnership with Accor Hotels leading to the rebranding of 10 hotels to join the Mercure brand of 33 existing UK properties.

TMB Systems were again on hand to help Focus and Accor successfully overcome the IT challenges this new partnership presented.

The recent acquisition of the Ramada Hotels at Bristol and London Heathrow now bring a total of fourteen hotels to the Focus Hotels portfolio.
